About the Dean

Professor Felix Musau was appointed founding Dean of Riara University School of Computing Sciences in July 2015. An expert in Computer Science and Information Technology where he worked over years in both Technical and Academic fields. He has taught and mentored students in several institutions, most recently at the Kenyatta University, School of Engineering and Technology, Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, School of Computing and Information Technology, Management University, United states International University-Africa and the University of Nairobi, School of Computing and Informatics among others. At Kenyatta University he was a founder of the KU Cisco Networking Academy, Legal Main Contact and head of the Unit which now offers Cisco courses in KU campuses. He also headed the IBM Projects at the University, where he saw successful implementation of the Project. In the University he also served as Director-ICT and AG-Chairman of Department. He has been a Chair and member of several committees at University and the community at large. He is a trained instructor for CCNA, Mobile Application Development and Cyber security. He is also a trained Microsoft professional as an MCSE, MCSD, MCDBA, and MCSA, Health Information Management (HIN) as well as a Licensed Installer for Copper and Fiber. He is a member of Computer Society of Kenya, ACM, World Federation of Associations of Teacher Education (W.F.A.T), IEEE, Microsoft Certified professionals. He has been actively involved in External Examination, curriculum development and evaluation for various universities, Industry-University linkages and mentoring students.

Professor Felix Musau graduated with a Doctor of Philosophy degree and Master of Science in Computer Science and Technology, from the School of computing and Information Engineering, Central South University, P.R CHINA in 2012, which is one of the Top Universities in Asia. He is one of the recipients of the Prestigious Great Wall Chinese Full scholarships for both Msc and Ph.D degrees. In the course of his doctoral studies, he was recognized as a top student having been first foreign student in the year in his group to complete his Doctoral studies at the school on schedule.

Professor Felix Musau has attended many International conferences and published widely in peer-reviewed Journals. He is a researcher with ICT Authority and the Principal Investigator of Mozilla RCC Grant. He is also reviewer of many publications and a supervisor of many Ph.D. and MSC Students. He is also a Key note and motivational speaker in Achieving Academic Excellence as well as Computing forums.

His current main research interests are in innovation, Trust and Security of Network Transactions, Ethics and Responsible Computing, Mobile computing and Cyber Security.
